Why vegan?
As a person who grew up in a vegan household I often struggled to find food that accommodated my diet. And it was nearly impossible to find custom vegan dessert options that didn't cost a fortune. By prioritizing plant-based desserts with Sweet Hart I was excited to show people that vegan desserts are just as delicious as anything made from dairy products, and that opting for vegan options doesn't have to cost more.
Do you cater for events?
Sweet Hart Desserts was a project that held community at the center of its mission and I loved catering for events and parties. I have been honored to be part of many community celebrations, life moments and events in the past. However, this project no longer offers catering or orders.
Where are you located?
I don't have a physical shop or location. Sweet Hart Desserts is a home based baking service, meaning that all of my desserts are homemade and baked with care by me. Though if you're looking for local cafés and restaurants with vegan options I've got a list of favourites that I’d be more than happy to recommend.
Since 2021 Sweet Hart Desserts has been part of the DESTA Black Community Network Food Incubator Program in Montreal. Through this program we will occasionaly host pop-up events across the island of Tiohtià:ke / Montreal.
